F1, coming June 2025 to answer “Why did Sunny Hayes come back to Formula1?”

Warner Bros and Formula 1 have dropped the much-awaited F1 trailer on their youtube channels just 3 days after Rosé (the celebrated BLACKPINK member) released “Messy”, a new song for the F1 movie. The release date has been set for June 27, 2025 — which is closer than it seems! And the ott platform release would be on apple tv+. The official trailer that was released 10 months ago was very well received by audiences, garnering 26M+ views on YouTube across channels. The main trailer of F1 seems promising and intense!

Director and Cast of F1

Joseph Kosinski, the director and the magician behind Top Gun: Maverick, is all set to release his new and highly anticipated racing movie F1. Fasten your seat belts because Brad Pitt as Sunny Hayes and Damson Idris as Joshua are going to blow you out of your seats soon. The sound of car screaching your headphones in the trailer would be much more phenomenal at imax!
The rest of the cast includes Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Kim Bodnia, and Javier Bardem.
F1 is an Apple Original Films production presented by Warner Bros — two giants coming together. Though the movie is entirely fictional, Sunny and Joshua are here to make this fictional experience feel real on the IMAX screens near you.

F1 Main Trailer Out Now

The main trailer gives away almost the entire story; you might still want to go to the theatres for the racing experience. The plot of F1 is rather simple: a retired man is asked to return to the racing world to save a losing Formula 1 team and train a young racer to bring victory to the team. Here, the F1 OG retired racer is Sunny Hayes, and the young adult he’ll be guiding is Joshua. The role of Kate, played by Kerry Condon, in the trailer is just as small as that of the ugly naked guy from Friends — who was shown only once but left a lasting impression.

More about the fantabulous director, Joseph Kosinski

Joseph Kosinski, born in Iowa, is a trained mechanical engineer from Stanford and an architect from Columbia—yeah, the guy literally designs his movies like blueprints. Before Hollywood, he directed stunning game trailers like Halo 3‘s “Starry Night” and Nike’s “Art of Speed.” He made his big break with Tron: Legacy, and later Oblivion and Top Gun: Maverick, teaming up with stars like Tom Cruise and Miles Teller. Known for his razor-sharp visuals and obsession with geometry (thanks to Kubrick), he brings an architect’s precision to action cinema. Kosinski isn’t just a director—he’s a visual engineer building full-blown cinematic experiences.
